When plants grow, they produce seeds. These seeds need the same things as the plants. They need sunlight, which is in abundance if the plants are planted in direct sunlight and as long as there is good weather. They also need water and nutrients from the soil. If the seeds are planted too close to any other plants, including the plant they came from, they will all be fighting each other for the nutrients and water. Therefore, seeds should be dispersed away from each other and away from the plant they came from. If this happens, the plants should receive equal amounts of water and nutrients and not have to fight each other.
