Am I Enviromentally Friendly? Brain Teaser

We’ve all heard about the “three R’s” of sustainability: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The goal of the three R’s is to prevent waste and conserve natural resources. It is important implementing such “green” practices because this is our own business, so we will be saving our planet.

Atmospheric ozone absorbs ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun, particularly harmful UVB-type rays. On the other hand, the exposure to UVB radiation is linked with increased risk of skin cancer and cataracts, as well as damage to plants and marine ecosystems. If this continues, our planet will be dying.

A greenhouse gas is a gas that absorbs and emits radiant energy within the thermal infrared range. Greenhouse gases cause the greenhouse effect. However, the primary greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone. This effect will be destroying our atmosphere.

We have only one place to live, and we must take care of it because this is our own business. Taking care of the Earth is not just a responsibility, it is a privilege. By planting trees, saving water, not throwing garbage, applying R`s, etc. we will be saving our existence in this planet.

An electric car is an automobile that is propelled by one or more electric motors, using energy stored in rechargeable batteries. The use of these cars will be reducing contamination.

The air is very polluted, and the most of the time because of the gases from engines powered by petrol. On the other hand, we can reduce such effect by planting trees and plants and not using cars often.
